Negin saffron, which is sometimes called Negini saffron, is the best type of saffron in Iran. Negin saffron has different types such as Negin, pseudo-Negin, Super Negin, and other kinds. Negin saffron is the best and most expensive type of saffron, and this type of saffron is usually the one that farmers export and has a high coloring power (about 250 units). Production and sale of Negin saffron are very low due to the time-consuming process of cleaning saffron in this method and the high cost and more activity required for processing.

Negin saffron

Saffron Negin Peresi

This saffron is pressed during processing, and the red strands of saffron take on a flat and, in other words, flattened state. This Red Saffron is rare in the market. The global saffron price of this type is about ten to nineteen dollars per five grams. But remember that bulk purchase of saffron is cheaper.

Saffron Super Negin or Negin Pushal

The most well-known and famous type of saffron among Negin saffron categories is Negin Super Saffron. The mentioned saffron has good quality and appearance and is a suitable option for export to Asian countries such as China. Negin Pushal is a special kind of Pushal saffron in which the three strands of a red and thick stigma without the root part (yellow) are separated from the existing strands, and bulky saffron is prepared. This type of saffron is dried straight and without corrosion.

Negin Pushal saffron is the most extravagant and costly sort of saffron and has the most elevated coloring. (between 250 and 320 units). Creation and offer of Negin Pushal saffron, because of the tedious and expensive cycle and more significant movement needed for handling, usually has a decreasing trend in different years. Sargol Saffron

Sargol quality is challenging to determine and is calibrated and divided into three grades by the two characteristics of “stigma length” and “absence of white patches mixed with the load that has turned red.” The first-grade Sargol is more expensive than the super Negin, and the third-grade Sargol is slightly more costly than the Pushal Ghalamdar. Among the types of saffron, the coloring power of Sargol saffron is more than the other regular types and is about 210 to 260 units. The saffron price of each 5 grams of this type is usually eight dollars.


Pushal Saffron

Pushal saffron is the red stigma part of the saffron string with 1 to 3 mm of the yellow root part. Since the volume of stigma is higher than Dasteh saffron, its coloring power is also higher, and depending on its quality, it will be about 170 to 250 units. Some people have more confidence in this type of saffron because of the connection of the stigma to the root and the reduction of the possibility of being counterfeit. Regular Pushal saffron has ordinary bristles and more roots. The saffron price of each 5 grams of this type is eighty cents to two dollars.

Dasteh Saffron (Dokhtarpich)

Dasteh saffron is the primary and most basic type of saffron obtained by stacking and drying an entire string of saffron (including stigma and root). The root part is usually 3 to 5 mm, and depending on the quality of saffron, the stigma part can be longer or shorter. The saffron price of each 5 grams of this type is eleven to thirteen dollars.
